A picture of normal gastric mucosa - that was a picture of the day on Wikipedia. H&E stain.

The name Nephron comes from the structural unit of the kidney.

I've been around here since mid-2008. I have over 3,500 image uploads. Most of them are original works, pathology-related and from a Rebel XSi and later from a Rebel T6s. Generally, my images are post-processed with GIMP to white balance and de-vignette.

If you want to contact me post the message here. The curious can find more about me here.

A selection of my images can be found in my favourites gallery. A gallery of my uploads can be found here.

Why?

“Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge. That’s what we’re doing.” - Jimbo Wales in a Slashdot interview.

Use of the images I have uploaded

I am flattered if you find an image I have uploaded good enough for whatever use you have in mind. There is no need to ask me permission for use of any particular image(s); however, you must respect the applicable (copyleft) license(s) associated with the image(s). Generally, I do not release images into the public domain or make images for non-free use.

A proper attribution should include the copyright date (based on the File history), my name (Michael Bonert), and the full text of one of the licences.

If the image is used online and not medical, a link to the full text of the licence is acceptable and I ask that you link to this page, for example:

Copyright © 2011 Michael Bonert.
You are free to share and adapt this image as per the CC BY-SA 3.0.

If the image is used in printed material and not medical the links should be written out, for example:

You are free to share and adapt this image as per the CC BY-SA 3.0 ( https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/legalcode ).

Also, the full text of the licence (found at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/legalcode) has to found within the printed material.

For medical images:
