Doctor Overview

Dr. Peter Baik has extensive experience in the medical field, having trained at a variety of locations to build his expertise. Born in South Korea, Dr. Baik came to the United States at age 12. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2005 and began accumulating academic awards for his achievements. Dr. Baik currently serves as a thoracic surgeon at City of Hope Chicago. He is also affiliated with City of Hope Phoenix.

With a residency in general surgery, thoracic surgery fellowship and minimally invasive thoracic and esophageal surgery post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Baik was well prepared to take his position at City of Hope. In addition to his various memberships, Dr. Baik was a clinical assistant professor for surgery at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He taught as an adjunct clinical assistant professor at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also previously served as Thoracic Surgery Director for the Cancer Center Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) Lung Cancer Institute.
