Dr. Charles Dietl is an associate professor of surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He specializes in cardiothoracic critical care and adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, treating patients who have been diagnosed with lung cancer and mesothelioma.
Dr. Dietl is board-certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery and has more than 45 years of experience. Prior to working as a professor at the University of New Mexico, Dr. Dietl was a cardiothoracic surgeon at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, New York, St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, California and Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. He is a member of several societies for thoracic surgery and has authored more than 35 publications.
